Hours are:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am till 3:30 pm
except Wednesday: open till 6:00 pm
Saturday, 8:00 am till 12:00 noon

Now Taking "Boxboard"
The District is now officially collecting "boxboard" in its paper recycling program. Put your Boxboard in with your corrugated cardboard recycling. Boxboard is the grayish single-ply cardboard used for:

Cereal boxes
Tissue boxes
Pantry food boxes, such as crackers, pasta, etc.
Soda or beer boxes/six-pack carriers
NO: Freezer boxes (contain wet-strength additives that make them non-recyclable)
NO: Juice or milk cartons (contain plasic layers that makes them non-recyclable)

Happenings at WSWMD

We have sold all of the Backyard Compost Bins. Sorry. They will be on sale again next year.

The State has finally accepted our Solid Waste Implementation Plan! We will be holding public hearings in Wilmington and Brattleboro. Check the public notices in your local newspaper, or check back on this page for the dates yet to be determined.

We are collecting used bikes at the Wilmington Transfer Station, Dover Transfer Station, and the WSWMD Convenience Center on Old Ferry Rd. Please leave your donated bike(s) with the station attendent.
